The Crunch – Free Bulky Waste Drop-Off Event

9am – 12:30pm. Multiple locations across Basildon borough.
One of Basildon’s most popular community recycling events returns for 2026. Residents can drop off unwanted bulky household items for free while helping keep the borough clean and boost recycling efforts.

Calling all dads, grandads, and male carers! Don't let the Billericay roadworks put you off this Saturday morning, 21st March…DAMBUSTERS is back at Christ Church on Perry Street. From 8:30am until 10am, you and your under-5s can enjoy a completely free morning of play, games, and stories. We’ve even got the catering covered with bacon rolls and coffee for the grown-ups, plus plenty of healthy snacks for the little ones. It’s a brilliant way to meet other local dads in a relaxed setting, and there’s no need to book…just turn up and join the fun. Since the roadworks are right outside, why not dodge the traffic and take a nice stroll through the park to get there instead?
