Weather in Basildon this week

According to the Met Office weather forecast, Basildon's heading into a warm week, kicking off with a partly cloudy Sunday at 28°/18° before Monday jumps to 33°. From Tuesday through Saturday it settles into a steady 30-31° run, all full sun, no clouds breaking it up. No heat warnings in sight this time round, just clean sunshine pretty much wall to wall.

What’s New?

New routes from First Bus Essex from 26th July First bus Essex is introducing new bus routes improving access to us in Basildon. For £3, you should be able to hop on the B1 bus from Basildon/Laindon and ride all the way to Harold wood station where you can take the Elizabeth Line. FirstBus has also modified the 351 bus route so you can get to Chelmsford from Basildon Hospital. Find the full list of changes directly on the First Bus Essex website

Basildon tennis players can now book Mopsies via the LTA website The two tennis courts at Mopsies Park have recently been refurbished with funding from the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA). The courts have new surfaces, nets and posts and are managed by the Basildon Borough Council. Book a court here (every day in line with daylight hours)

Basildon Bids for UK Town of Culture 2028 Basildon is in the running to become the UK Town of Culture 2028. If successful, the town could receive £3 million to deliver a six-month cultural programme in 2028, with runners-up awarded £250,000. Residents are encouraged to view Basildon’s digital postcard and support the bid.
