Free Indoor Cricket @ James Hornsby High School | 5:00PM–6:00PM Free indoor cricket is back in Basildon for children and young people aged 8–16. Whether they’re new to cricket or already play, come along to get active, have fun and meet new people. Charity Quiz Night @ Wickford Railway Club | 7:30PM Put your thinking caps on for a charity quiz raising money for Cancer Research UK and the Bobby Moore Fund. The Crunch – Bulky Waste Drop-Off @ 9:00AM–12:30PM The Crunch returns this Saturday, giving residents a chance to dispose of bulky household waste responsibly at six locations across the borough. Billericay Foodbank Charity Plant Stall @ 10:00AM–3:00PM Pick up some plants while supporting the work of Billericay Foodbank at its charity plant stall during the High Street Market. All proceeds will help support the foodbank. 📍 St Mary Magdalen Church, High Street, Billericay.

Barleylands Farmers Market & Craft Village @ 10:00AM–4:00PM Spend Saturday browsing fresh local produce, artisan creations, food and drink at Barleylands Farmers Market. There’ll also be tractor photo opportunities throughout the day, with shops and studios open around the Craft Village. Basildon RFC Sponsored Walk @ 11:00AM Join players, families, supporters and friends for a sponsored walk raising funds for Basildon Rugby Club's junior section and facilities. Dementia Awareness Walk @ Lake Meadows | 11:00AM Mark World Alzheimer's Month with a community walk around Lake Meadows. Follow the forget-me-not trail, learn more about dementia along the way and finish with refreshments and a friendly chat at the Bowls Pavilion. End of Summer Fun Day @ Basildon Sporting Village Enjoy a day of activities inside and outside Basildon Sporting Village. The Sports Hall and Athletics Track will be closed from 8:00am–2:00pm for the event, with a swimming gala taking place in the Main Pool later in the day. 📍 Basildon Sporting Village. Allow extra time for parking as the centre is expected to be busy.

EHPPS Shetland Pony Fun Show @ 10:00AM The Essex Horse and Pony Protection Society hosts its annual Shetland Fun Show with showing classes for Shetlands, miniatures and part-bred Shetlands, plus an all-day agility course and in-hand jumping in the afternoon. Weekend Notices

Swimming Galas @ Basildon Sporting Village A swimming gala will take place in the Main Pool on Saturday 19th September after swimming lessons have finished, with another gala taking place on Sunday 20th September. No swimming lessons will be affected, but the centre advises that the car park is expected to be busier than usual throughout the weekend, so allow extra time for parking. 📍 Basildon Sporting Village.

Basildon Gymnastics Centre – Final Day of Operation Sunday 20th September will be the final day of operation for Basildon Gymnastics Centre before the facility permanently closes. All gymnastics lessons will continue as usual up to and including Sunday.
